How long should you climatize your hardwood before installing it?
A general rule for the length of time for acclimation of wood flooring products is 48 to 72 hours, but can be more product and species specific.
The product is to be in the home under normal living conditions for humidity and temperature. The product should not be acclimated during construction, as dry walling and painting will increase the interior humidity to levels too high for proper acclimatization. It is recommended the humidity be at 30% to 45%. It is not only hardwood, but other products such as vinyl plank and laminate may require acclimation. Always ask about the required acclimation period from your flooring provider.
